![]() ![]() Well, busy times are 5.30pm to 7.30pm so outside of those hours will mean a quicker delivery, last orders are just before 8.00 pm and most days we begin taking orders by 12.00 noon. Sorry about that, no very sorry about that but we are a small team here at Drakes and we cannot cope with all 3 delivery tablets, cooking, packaging, delivering and operating phone orders at the same time, so we have had to stop answering the phone Sadly we don’t currently have a delivery driver, so have suspended deliveries, but hope to be up and running again soon To pre-order, please click below to open our app…Īlternatively, our takeaway is now open, so please just pop in (like everyone used to do!) and order your food. FISH AND CHIPS NEAR ME FREESorry – we do not offer any gluten free items. We have forgotten the varieties of white fish available to use in the UK and if we can buy locally, support our local fishing industry, and minimise the need to increase prices then we can make the best of a terrible situation.Drakes Eat In is now open, so why not enjoy our great food straight onto a plate, with a cup of tea or a glass of wine Tuesday: 12.15 to 2.15 5.00 to 8.15 Wednesday: 12.15 to 2.15 5.00 to 8.15 Thursday: 12.15 to 2.15 5.00 to 8.15 Friday 12.15 to 2.15 7.00 to 8.15 Saturday 12.15 to 2.15 6.30 to 8.15 Any such fish will be in addition to Cod and will be clearly advertised so customers know what fish is available. We hope to be offering locally caught fish at a similar price as is currently charged for Cod soon. In addition to this we are currently talking to John at Devon Quality Fish (our local fish merchant) about Cod alternatives of which there are several. In an attempt to minimise price increases, we are in the process of purchasing a substantial amount of Cod, before the price increase even further. We will not sell Russian-caught Cod! Our Cod is Norwegian and is responsibly and sustainably caught, our Haddock is landed at Brixham and our Plaice is also sourced and landed locally. There is no doubt that we must do something! We can’t blame the Russians for all the increase costs, but those resulting from the conflict are in addition to those already faced by the industry. It is estimated that 60% of our Cod and Haddock is landed by Russian vessels and with these vessels banned from UK docks and fish processing plants boycotting their fish the supply of the UK’s favourite battered fish looks worrying. We learnt last Friday that the price of Cod had increased 20% overnight. The price of food is another huge concern - I for one didn’t realise just how much we rely on both Russia and the Ukraine for our food. With gas prices set to increase dramatically, utilities are under even more supply and price pressures as Russian gas gets turned off. It seems to us that the challenges facing the UK Fish & Chip shop industry pale into insignificance when considering the plight of the Ukrainian people, however we can’t ignore the knock-on effects of this conflict. ![]() Please rest assured that we will continue to trade in a Covid-safe and responsible manner. We are unable to accept orders by text, email or social media. ![]() We look forward to welcoming you back safely. ![]() When your food is ready to collect the buzzer will sound & flash. If you do not pre-order: walk-ins and telephone orders will be allocated a time slot, as all food is cooked to order. There may be a delay if you haven’t pre-ordered online (see above). Buzzers have been introduced so you can wait safely while your food is being cooked.
